What to do in Madrid in November

November is a strange month! Usually people dedicated it to relax before the arrival of the holiday season. Provably, there is no better way to relax in November than travel; I can assure you that prepares you to prepare mentally and physically for the most hectic family holiday season.

November is a little cold and one of the wettest month of the year, but in 2014 is expected to be dry, sunny and warm. So… Let’s take a look on what going on in Madrid this November.

Madrid International Jazz Festival

November 4th to 26th

The Festival International de Jazz de Madrid will take place during the month of November in Conde Duque. This festival is a great opportunity to listen to live jazz most awarded worldwide, as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Al Di Meola and Richard Galliano. The festival organized around thirty concerts during the whole month, and the tickets are very affordable.

As part of the festival, OFF de La Latina (Calle Mancebos, 4) is also holding a series of concerts of jazz-flamenco fusion genre. The program contains ten concerts, three of them hold form the 6th to the 13th of November.

American Impressionism

Organized by the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny and the Terra Foundation for American Art, in collaboration with the National Galleries of Scotland and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, this amazing sample of the best American impressionism arrives to Spain. The exhibit hold in Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum will be showing paintings of William Merritt Chase or Mary Cassatt.

Hubert de Givenchy

October 22nd to January 18th

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is pleased to present the works of famed designer Hubert de Givenchy, an icon who dressed celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy and Caroline of Monaco. You can see the dress that wear his muse Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina or Breakfast at Tiffany.
